• Portillejo Merlot
- 2003
Red • Joven
• La Mancha
Our lightest red for easy drinking.
This is a young light fruity wine from the La Mancha region which is 200 miles south of Madrid. A Spanish Joven – meaning young which are often not fermented in a barrel. Evuna is pleased offer this fine wine which is our recommended house red. It is this family run vineyard’s philosophy that they do not water the vines and will only use nature to grow the grape. Once the grapes are hand picked they are crushed immediately with the yeast and simply left to ferment. This wine is also a great introduction to red wine for any white wine drinker.

• Vega Sicilia Unico ‘68
- 1968
Red • Grand Reservas
• Ribera del duero
This is the wine of choice, the number one wine in the World.
The preferred choice of the Spanish Royal family, diplomats, and the social elite. A highly complex wine. The initial bouquet offers sweet, chocolaty aromas with mineral notes. Gradually coconut and vanilla appear, along with aniseed and pipe tobacco, eventually followed by balsamic and menthol. When fused together, the aromatic palate is of medium intensity, highly elegant, not at all violent, rather like a gentle, long lasting perfume. In the mouth it fans out into an array of flavours: with mild tannins, hint of alcohol, menthal, toast and coca. In essence, a distinguished, discreet, complex and outstanding wine.
